Mt. Fuji, also called Fuji-san, is located on Honshu Island in Japan. It is an active volcano, but it last erupted in 1707.  It is approximately 62 miles away from Tokyo and is considered one of the three sacred mountains in Japan. It is a well known symbol and is frequently portrayed in art. Summit hikes are a popular activity among climbers as the volcano is 3,776 meters tall, but the weather frequently changes, so it is recommended to bring a change of warm clothes and waterproof material in case it rains.
